Buckland Lake Reserve

Welcome to Buckland Lake Glamping cabin

‘Kingfisher’ is designed first and foremost as a glamping cabin for a great holiday for everybody but also constructed very much with wheelchair and access restricted users in mind.

Further Information for Wheelchair users and those with Mobility Restrictions

Glamping cabins are designed to be quirky, compact and often reuse feature components such as doors as we have done here. As a result, although many details fully comply with the latest disability standards, some do not and everybody seems to have their own pet ideas anyway, so please read the following and if there is anything else you need to know please just ask 077994 03550.

We explain the main features below so you can plan your holiday with absolute confidence, knowing that it fully meets your requirements.

Important: all hirers are deemed to have read and to have accepted these specifications.

  • 2 X zip link divan Beds 1.9m - 6'3"  X 900mm - 3ft.
  • Bed height 560mm or 22” (ideal height for transfer).
  • Space to one side of one bed or between beds depending on configuration (see drawing) 850 mm - 33”.
  • Normal format is two single beds. If double bed configuration required, this must be specified at least one week before hire date. There is no charge for either configuration but we must know in advance so it can be made up whilst cleaning or it may be too late to change and a further charge will be made.
  • Entry door and bathroom doors are both 780mm - 30” wide with a straight on approach both sides (Latest disability size specification generally 900mm - 35”, so please be sure this is acceptable). Both have a small ramp 50mm - 2” high X 100mm - 4” deep on the cabin interior side to help access over the door sills.
  • Bathroom internal turning circle to door approach 1.4m - 4’7” (Typical wheelchair specifications 1.5m - 4’11”) (door would open out from bathroom).
  • Main cabin internal door approaches both 1.5m - 4’11”  (full compliance).
  • Electric socket and most light switches 1.1m - 3’8” (full compliance).
  • Bathroom light operates on infrared sensor only
  • Worktop height 760mm - 30”

  • Hot water anti scald temperature controlled to all outlets.
